What is W Series?

 Most of you have probably heard about W Series - more or less. Many new people started to become interested in the series after F1 announced that characteristic violet-green cars will support Formula 1 at eight races in 2021. 

But what exactly is W Series?

We all know the problem that women meet during their careers. The reason behind coming up with the project was, and still is, a lack of women in motorsport and lack of sponsor interest. 

I found out about the series when the media announced that Polish driver will compete there. I got interested - right away and I don't regret it. This is the opportunity, the chance to show people that women are great racers. Some people ask - "But why do they need another series? You say yourself that they can race alongside men". We need it because teams don't want to hire women drivers and this series shows how amazing and talented girls motorsport has. We have already seen W Series champion - Jamie Chadwick - becoming Williams' development driver and, as well, competing in E-Sport Series alongside F1 drivers (Alex Albon, Lando Norris, Nicholas Latifi) during the lockdown.

Catherine Bond Muir - who's Chief Executive Officer.

Annie Bradshaw - Press Officer. You probably know Annie from working in Williams as a Press Officer, for example, as Lance Stroll's press officer or working with Ayrton Senna.

Matt Bishop - Communications Director, who's also a great Formula 1 journalist.

David Coulthard - Advoirsy Board Chairman. One of the biggest supporters of the W Series.

And of course many more people. W Series becomes more and more popular, getting people's attention. I can't wait for next season when the present was canceled because of the pandemic, and races that are going to support Formula 1.

All W Series races from last season are available to watch on Youtube, as well as the E-Sport League.

Keep an eye on the women from W Series, because some of them may be part of the most important grid very soon - F1's grid.
